So,this morning I had an opportunity to go to my first live taping of a TV show. I am a HUGE fan of the CMT show Nashville, and Kelly and Ben had three of the stars of the show, Lennon and Maisy Stella, and Clare Bowen, on today. The taping was for a show that will air in about two weeks and the tickets were free, I was off so why not? Ive never done this before and I love these talented ladies, plus Kelly and Ben are hilarious. So heres how it goes, I saw a tweet from a local radio station to sign up for free tickets, well don’t threaten me with a good time, so I signed up with the link provided for the network, which I have provided here, I had to create a profile, the more on your profile the faster you hear back I found out. A few minutes later I got an email saying that I had been granted a ticket to the show! I hit the claim button right away and downloaded the ticket to my phone. I was excited! I woke up this morning , showered, dressed, makeup and I was off!. If you have ever visited or lived in Nashville you will understand the traffic situation here, so it took me about 40 minutes with traffic to get to the studio. When I arrived I was greeted by a guard and he asked for my ticket and ID and I was let in. There was an abundance of parking which was awesome! I parked my car and followed the sign that said “Studio Audience Entrance”, I was greeted by a producer from the show who looked at my ticket and ID and handed me a release form I needed to sign, the release form is for any network to legally protect themselves when using your image on television, I was sat in the hallway for about 30 minutes with everyone else who would be in the audience. Before we went into the studio the producer explained how everything worked and she warned us that chewing gum is not camera friendly and she advised everyone spit theirs out. We were told we could bring our phones in but they needed to be on silent not vibrate or off completely and photos/videos were not allowed! They lined us up by the number on the release form and in we went! One of the producers was in charge of seating everyone, they seat you by party and in the best area for the camera to make the audience look full, I was seated right in front, oh joy! The network had an awesome warm-up person who explained how everything would work and what we could expect, she also explained that the topic of the show was “Women who have awesome careers”. It was finally show time!! They had two other segments before the Woman of Nashville came out and one was a mermaid! I love mermaids! The mermaids work at the Aquarium Restaurant located in the Opry Mills Mall and perform daily, check it out if in Nashville, good food and you can see all the fish! I have linked it above if you’re interested. It was finally time for the Women of Nashville and everyone gave them a huge ovation! They spoke about the show, what its like to be on the show for 6 years, played two truths and a lie with Kelly and Ben, and also spoke about the upcoming farewell show that are having at the Opry in March, which yes I am going, I wish the ladies would have performed ,but hey can’t have everything right? The segment was over and there were 4 more to film, one was a cooking segment where the guest, chef Laura Lea explained her recipe for grain free Peanut Butter and Jelly Banana bread, which sounded so good! I have linked the recipe you, I will definitely be trying this! We sat through a performance and then we did the “farewell” on camera, and just line in school were dismissed by row. All in all it was a great time and an awesome thing to have experienced! Ben and Kelly are hilarious on and off camera and super sweet to everyone! I look forward to going again and sharing that experience with you as well!!
